Workshops for attendees

Question:

I am interested in completing the Allens training. I just wanted to touch base and see if there is any difference completing it in person rather than online? I would like to attend the upcoming intro training however will be away and am not returning till the second day of the course. I can complete the online training the following week however I wanted to see what the difference is?

Response:

We offer online training for OTs who can’t attend in person. It does the job but the practical component on the second day is easier in person. On Day 2 you lace up your sample stitches on the ACLS and I can check that it is correctly done. You then practice delivering the assessment on each other. We do this virtually as well but it is harder. It is also easier to ask questions in person and you get to look at the resources available to purchase before you buy. I always feel that an important component of training is getting together with other clinicians and “talking shop”.
