What Does Our OT service Do?
The goal of occupational therapy is to help people participate in the activities of everyday life.
Occupational therapists achieve this goal by working with people and communities to enhance their ability to engage in the occupations they want to, need to, or are expected to do, or by modifying the occupation or the environment to better support their occupational engagement.
The Do Network services a diverse client base. Therapists can tailor their approach to suit individual clients. We specialise in support to those with psychosocial conditions, such as mental health diagnoses, neurological disorders, autism, and intellectual disability.
Local NDIS Occupational Therapy Assessments
Our occupational therapists assess clients to understand what occupations (activities) are important to the person, what difficulties, barriers or challenges they may experience in performing these activities, and what goals the person anticipates are achievable.
The assessment results form a ‘baseline’ of skills and needs that can be used to build the client’s NDIS supports, evaluate their progress, and prepare for the next review. This baseline also provides the information needed to formulate a therapy plan to reach the client’s goals.
We develop therapy goals with you and build your capacity to achieve these goals. We can help you to understand what goals are possible and how you can reach them. Our proven, evidence-based interventions and treatments will support you on your journey. In addition, we engage with families and community supports to strengthen the capacity of care for each client and promote better outcomes.
