Allied Health Assistant
Anne’s varied working life revolves around her passion for people and regard for equity. She has worked in a range of professional roles as a disability advocate and employee representative. She is an experienced support worker and has also undertaken skilled manual work in manufacturing environments. She has also raised a family.
Anne was a registered NDIS provider of assistive technology for four years, making and supplying weighted items. This combined her lifelong enjoyment of creative, crafty, making activities with an intellectual interest in sensory processing and regulation.
Anne places importance on treating everyone respectfully, making sure they are listened to and they have opportunities and experiences to enrich their lives. As an Allied Health Assistant in Toowoomba with The Do Network, Anne is keen to use her experiences and positive attitude to encourage others and to assist them to develop skills, solve problems and achieve their goals.
Anne has a particular interest in communication, which she believes is important for inclusion, understanding and recognition. Her skills include the use of therapy apps for aphasia/stroke facilitated communication, Makaton and AAC. Anne works with people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities and is adept in the use of interpreters.
Anne’s qualifications include a Certificate III in Disability and a Graduate Diploma in Industrial Relations. As part of our mobile team she services participants in the Toowoomba area and north and northwest surrounds.
